Mischa Zupko Harpsichord Concerto — For Your GRAMMY® Consideration, Best For Your GRAMMY® Consideration graphic for Mischa Zupko’s Harpsichord Concerto, Best Contemporary Classical Composition

Harpsichord Concerto pays homage to composers who expanded the expressive and tonal possibilities of the instrument while exploring how those sound worlds can be transformed through a modern vernacular.

The string quartet becomes an extension of the harpsichord’s rapid decay, intertwining to create one composite instrument. Jory Vinikour, together with Desirée Ruhstrat, Charlene Kluegel, Margaret O’Malley, and David Cunliffe, brings the work to life in its premiere recording on Cedille Records, connecting musical traditions across centuries.
