On October 29, saxophonist Christopher Creviston will join the Niskayuna High School Band in Niskayuna, New York for the third and final consortium premiere of Mischa Zupko’s new Saxophone Concerto.
The performance marks the culmination of a three school commissioning consortium that has brought the concerto to different student ensembles and communities over the course of 2026. Niskayuna has a strong and active music program under the leadership of Director of Music Eric Hughes, whose work encompasses the district’s band, orchestra and choral programs.
Creviston, for whom the concerto was written and who initiated the commissioning project, has been closely involved with the work from its inception. The October 29 concert brings the concerto’s consortium premiere cycle to a close before the work moves on to further performances in the 2026–27 season.
