A Bold new take on Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill” – Premiere Performance!

New arrangement of Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill” commissioned by legendary violinist and pedagogue Almita Vamos will be premiered on her faculty recital, joined by violist, Davis King and cellist, Tanya Carey.

This new arrangement reimagines Tartini’s virtuosic “Devil’s Trill” Sonata through the lens of Tartini’s dream encounter with the devil. By interlacing fragments of different movements as brief echoes and accompanimental gestures, the arrangement blurs chronology to reflect the disjointed, dreamlike ethos as Tartini’s vision unfolds.
